Universal Class
Knowledge is power, learn something new with Universal Class. It provides over 500 online e-learning courses facilitated by real tutors who will oversee your learning by providing assignments to complete at your own pace. You can also contact the tutor with any queries by e-mail. At the end of the course you will gain a certificate of completion.
Registration – It is possible to enroll in up to five courses at a time with access to each 24/7 and have up to six months to finish each course from the time of registering, all you need is an active library membership and card number.
There is no app for this service, it must be accessed through your preferred browser.
When registering, enter your Library Card number, fill out a small online form, and you are registered and ready to start courses.
All courses are self-paced. This means you can learn when you want on your own time. You do not need to be online at a specific date or time.

What is eduroam?
Eduroam is short for educational roaming, it is a Wi-fi service which enables students, researchers and staff to securely access the internet at their college/university whilst visiting the library.
How it works?
Eudroam is a WI-fi service set identifier (SSID) that is broadcast over a Wi-fi network. Similar to the way a mobile device immediately connects to a college campus Wi-fi, the device will connect in the public library. It is easy and safe to use and now available in all Kilkenny Libraries if your college or university is an eduroam participant.
Just look for the eduroam SSID when you try and connect to the internet in the library. Further instructions can be found here for your device:
